(We regret any offense that what we are about to say may cause to the true vegetarians out there.)
After yet another miserable round of food poisoning (really it was HORRIBLE); we think the time has come to go semi-vegetarian, at least while we're living in Mwanza.
It’s not so bad.
We'll still eat chicken, and eggs, and fish.
And of course tofu.
Vegetarian lasagna and meatless tacos (with lentils) go a long way.
There are plenty of vegetarians around to trade recipes with.
It makes our carbon footprints *slightly* smaller.

It means saving money on groceries and eating out.
It means power outages are also slightly less stressful knowing there isn’t beef and pork melting in the freezer.

And with all the fun spices Cecily brought us from Zanzibar, we have tons of new dishes to experiment with.
So. Here’s to our new beef-less and pork-less phase of life!
You'll have to share all the new recipes you grow to love! Any update on the outage situation? Praying that things get back on soon and that you continue to have enough water.
