This past week, Duncan and a few members of the BIPAI team invited 33 Tanzanian nurses, clinical officers and counselors for a four day training on pediatric HIV/AIDS counseling.
The topics covered included:
-how to to communicate well with children and adolescents
-how to break the news to a child (and their families) that they are infected
-what HIV looks like in children, and
-how best to advise patients on taking medication
Congratulations to Duncan and the BIPAI team for a highly successful program--everyone in attendance appreciated the interactive and informative sessions and look forward to similar sessions in the future.
