Entrance to the Apartheid Museum
Duncan is still in Johannesburg, and while he hasn't had a chance to blog, did want to share some of the places he's been able to visit on his unexpected trip to South Africa.
Last weekend, he visited the Apartheid Museum which featured an exhibit on Nelson Mandela. He also went on a tour of Soweto (South West Township), a place that figured prominently in South Africa's anti-apartheid history. They dropped by the former home of Mandela (before he was imprisoned) and one of Desmond Tutu's homes.
Parts of Soweto do look like this, but others...
...look more like this...
D also visited the Hector Pieterson Museum named for the 12 year old student who was shot by police during the Soweto uprisings in 1976. Hector and this famous photograph above came to symbolize the brutality of the South African regime.
More stories to share, when Duncan returns.

Does he know when he'll be returning??
