Local Treasure Hunting

I don't think we'll ever be able to go completely local when it comes to buying food. But another small joy to add to our list is finding excellent local products that taste great and cost less than half of the ones imported from Kenya, the UAE or the US. 


Like this all-natural peanut butter and strawberry preserve made from strawberries growing near Mount Meru in Arusha.


On a somewhat related note, next on our list of culinary adventures will be to try to bake our own bread and figure out a way to make tofu! We really miss Chinese food!
