Happy 3 months in Tanzania to us!
It feels longer than 3 months though, maybe because we left the US in the summer and it hasn't stopped feeling like summer since. In fact, it's only going to get hotter as we approach Christmas.
Some things are getting easier, having a bit of routine helps (though we have to remind ourselves to hold onto this routine verrry lightly since any number of issues, crises or disasters can pop up at any time).
On Sundays we go to a local church with friends and then head off to the Sunday market where we stock up on produce for the week. Everything gets scrubbed almost obsessively with soap when we get home--especially the eggs.
Weekday evenings after work are filled with yoga, running or some kind of cardio, cooking, piano teaching, lecture prep for Duncan, lots of reading, fellowship group, dinners with friends, with visiting doctors or the Baylor team.
Depending on the month, Duncan goes into the hospital on Saturday mornings. In the afternoons, a secondary school teacher named Gaudense tutors us in Kiswahili. Then it's off to one of the 3 restaurants in town we rotate through for our big night out: Indian, pizza or more Indian...with random Western/African options thrown in. There is a Chinese restaurant but I am very afraid to go there.

Our thanks to all of you who have been praying, sending packages, and much needed long-distance support and encouragement.
Who knows what the next 3 months have in store?
