Here is the Baylor-Tanzania team, minus one doctor, during our country team meeting in Dar Es Salaam last week.
Mwanza to Dar is only a 2 hour plane ride, but our team members in Mbeya (Southern Tanzania), have to endure a 12 hour car ride each way. The "airport" in Mbeya is just a strip of dirt, accommodating only tiny private propeller planes. Even so, the winner of the longest journey to Dar for this meeting would be Mike, the COO of BIPAI who flew all the way from Houston.
The picture also includes our first two Tanzania employees that were recently hired, which is exciting. They will be operating the finance and accounting department at Mbeya and Mwanza.
Progress on the construction of both clinics is going well, with the tentative completion scheduled for late spring/early summer. As Baylor-Tanzania continues to expand, and as we get closer to transitioning into the new clinics, we ask for prayers for good working relationships within the organization.
