If We Were to "Twitter"

Would it look something like this? 5 totally random, totally unrelated snapshots of our life Mwanza:

Nearly five and half months in and we’re still not used to the water or the microscopic things swimming around in it.  Even after it's been boiled furiously and filtered in a fancy Swiss filter. Will we ever?

We're having trouble accepting that it’s January when it's brilliantly sunny and outside smells like summer and birds sing all day long and lizards sunning themselves scatter in 15 directions whenever we step up to our house.

Two weeks away and many more weeks of neglected study has left us stumbling over the basics and babbling a whole lot of incomprehensible Swahili. (Today I confidently referred to a herd of goats as a herd of nurses--"mbuzi"/"mwuguzi"; it could happen to anyone!)

This morning I watched a boy sob inconsolably over his mom, wipe her face with her head wrap and use the name of Jesus to “exorcise” the demons people said were possessing her. She eventually calmed down. By the end, they were pretty sure it wasn’t demons.

Yesterday we found a pale brown baby gecko, no bigger than my pinky finger, waiting for his next meal on our mosquito net.
