Watching March Madness Basketball in Mwanza...or not

As die hard basketball fans, my friend and I made the commitment to watch the NCAA Final Four this past weekend.  We used his resurrected satellite dish to watch the NCAA games live.  What this meant for us was waking up Sunday morning at 1AM to watch the two semifinal games that were being played live in Houston, Texas.

By the time the second game finished, it was close to 7AM here in Mwanza.  Needless to say, we both could barely keep open our eyes at the end of the game.  Afterwards, we headed straight to sleep for a few hours before Sunday activities.

Looking on the TV schedule for Monday's championship game, we realized it would be more manageable than the weekend extravaganza.  For one, it was only a single game to watch.  Plus, it was the championship game, and we were both excited for Butler.

Tip off was schedule for Tuesday morning at 4AM.  My friend and I promptly went to bed early Monday night, in anticipation of waking up at 4AM to watch the championship game.  However, that never happened!

Around 1AM, the power went out, and did not come back on until 6:30AM.   By that time the power came back on, the sports channel was airing "The World's Strongest Man".

As we both realized we had missed the entire game, we turned to each other and started laughing!  Such is life here in Mwanza.
