Above it a picture of the barbershop I go to in Mwanza, and the barber who cuts my hair. Both his grandfather and father cut hair for a living. He has been cutting hair for about 20 years, and also hopes his son too will follow in the footsteps of his family.
For 6,000 shillings (4 USD), I can get a decent haircut done in 10-15 minutes. This is a great bargain, compared to my haircuts in New York that cost 20-30 USD. Granted, the Mwanza hair salon is not as clean as the ones in New York, but it gets the job done.
When I leave Mwanza, I will miss this cash savings!
