Trials in Life

Flowers around the house

Recently there have been lots of trials involving our home in Tanzania.  For example:

- Having no power, which causes food to spoil in the refrigerator

- Water pipes bursting in our yard because they are poor quality

- Night lights around the house not working for an unknown reason, making it completely dark outside at night

- Rivers of water in the house after a heavy rain

- Internet modern not working for an unknown reason

In small group last week, Rob led a study on James 1:2-4  

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.  4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

It was good to remember how we should not be surprised when we face trials in life.  As a matter of fact, we should expect them, since the only way we will mature is to go through tough times.
