Today, is a holiday in Tanzania. To celebrate Eid (the end of Ramadan) Muslims in Mwanza are dressed in the finest they can afford and will spend the day in prayer. Driving back home from town, I could smell the pilau cooking already. Pilau, a heavily spiced rice dish, will be the order of the day our Tanzanian friends tell us.
This is our second Eid in Mwanza. Once again, we're thankful for the peaceful relations between Muslims and Christians in this country and hope they will not be strained in any way by all the hullaballoo coming out of Florida recently.
The photo looks total yum. Yes, glad that there's peace in your part of the world. Yes, that Florida pastor is quite the quack. Hope you're better now.
